Malaysia Airlines News & Information
Malaysia Airlines expands its global network by becoming a Oneworld member.Malaysia Airlines has become a ‘oneworld’ member following a unanimous vote, which was held at a meeting that took place during IATA's World Air Transport Summit. Membership of the alliance will enable the airline to establish bilateral links with other partners in ‘oneworld’. The alliance now covers approximately 950 destinations in 150 countries, which are served by a fleet of over 2,600 aircraft.
As a member of ‘oneworld’, the Malaysian carrier will be able to offer its passengers a whole range of additional benefits. The most obvious is that its customers will be able to take advantage of a more expansive global network. Members of the frequent flyer programme ‘Malaysia Airlines Enrich oneworld’ will be able to gain points whenever they use any of the other 14 carriers that are already partners the alliance. Similarly, cardholders of other ‘oneworld’ airlines will be able to claim rewards when flying with Malaysia Airlines.
