Singapore Airlines tops wine list

Singapore Airlines' wine selection has taken top prizes away at a ceremony to recognise the best wine available to business travellers.

The St Clair Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc offered by the airline was deemed the best white wine in business class by the Cellars in the Sky Awards.

Business Traveller magazine ran the awards and also jointly awarded Singapore Airlines runner-up for its selection of champagnes and sparkling whites. Over 30 airlines competed for the awards that were judged by a panel of experts over two days.

Best business class cellar overall was deemed to be held by Australian carrier Qantas.

Tourists flying to Singapore can enjoy good wines not just on the flight but also when they get there. The world famous Raffles Hotel was recently rated 100 out of 100 by American travellers for the Conde Nast awards.

Wine on Singapore Airlines is selected by three internationals, including the first Australian to pass the Master of Wine exam and the third ever holder of Le Grand Prix de l'Academie Internationale du Vin.
