Zurich Livens Up in Late Summer
Tourists can have some fantastic fun and explore the zesty side of Zurich during summer. Settling into Zurich, Switzerland this summer and looking for events that are fun and friendly for the whole family? Zurich may not have the reputation of party central but this destination does put out some attractive and unique festivities that are well worth scoping after seeing some of Zurich’s renowned impressive and enchanting local scenery.
Zurich’s to-do list includes year-round festivals, with the most impressive taking place the second Saturday of August and lasting the entire weekend. Zurich’s cosmopolitan cultural mix goes on display during the Zurich Street Parade, which takes places throughout August, taking place in the Hafendamm Enge vicinity. Indisputably the most attended Technoparade in all of Europe; the Street Festival dazzles audiences with its renowned laser show. Preaching tolerance, freedom, friendship and respect, the Street Parade introduces a new motto every year.
The Street Festival then leads nicely into the Theaterspektakel, a yearly festival which features lesser known talented actors who take the stage of many of Zurich’s best known theatres until September. Family friendly fun begins in late August with the city’s Medieval Spectacle, which includes costumes, sword fighting, and acrobatics. The Medieval Spectacle is held every two years in Zurich.
