Festival fever hits Dublin town

For 16 days in September, the city explodes into a showcase of new artistic talent, from homegrown Irish bands, to international dance extravaganzas.
With a wealth of eye-opening live music, street theatre, comedy shows, poetry, art displays and dance acts, the Fringe is a cultural feast for the masses. An audience of in excess of 150,000 spans across 40 venues citywide, cleverly using spaces such as disused shops, the magnificent Christ Church Cathedral and Dublin Castle, as well as inner city galleries, pubs and clubs, plus a vast amount of outdoor city spaces, the Fringe provides tourists with the opportunity to really get under the skin of Dublin.
September is an excellent time to visit Dublin, with the mild end of summer weather allowing you to enjoy the open-air experience Dublin. St Stephen's Green can be found at the end of Grafton Street for those who want to chill out in lush greenery. If you are lucky you might catch one of the open-air recitals held sporadically.
In addition to the Fringe Festival, during the summer months you can enjoy free lunchtime concerts of both traditional and popular music in St. Stephen’s Green, organized by the Summer Music Festival.
