Charter Flights Offer Inter-Island Service
Inter-island charter services allow visitors full access to the three Cayman Islands. The beautiful, tropical Cayman Islands in the Western Caribbean lie 241 km south of Cuba, 290 km northwest of Jamaica, and 772 km south of Miami, Florida in the United States. This British Overseas Territory consists of the three sister islands: the Grand Cayman, Cayman Brac, and Little Cayman.
Most United Kingdom travellers arrive at the Grand Cayman Island from London Heathrow via British Airways’ one-stop flights. The flights are booked four times weekly using Boeing 767s on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with a layover in Nassau, Bahamas. The main airport of the Grand Cayman Island is the Owen Roberts International Airport whilst the sister island of Cayman Brac is served by the Gerrard Smith Airport. Little Cayman has no airport on its own and relies on daily inter-island flights.
Inter-island flights are one of the best ways to visit between islands, and these charter flights are overseen by the Cayman Island Airports Authority (CIAA) and the Civil Aviation Authority. This provides for expediting aircraft and people with a focus on safety and environmental efficiency. Cayman Express and Cayman Airways provide the inter-island charter flights. Cayman Express flies to both Cayman Brac and Little Cayman four times daily from Grand Cayman whilst Cayman Airways maintains a daily jet service to Little Cayman and Cayman Brac.
The inter-island charter service allows holiday guests a fast track to travel as they jet from forest reserve to surf park, to historical landmarks, to the beach, to a bird sanctuary, and to other incredibly attractive sites of the Cayman Islands.
