Thousands of visitors expected for Isle of Man races
Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the Isle of Man TT races.The most spectacular event to take place on the Isle of Man is without much doubt the annual TT races, which are scheduled annually at the beginning of June. The international motorcycle races attract many thousands of spectators from all over the world, and year on year the races seem to reach new peaks of high octane thrills, so it is not surprising that visitor numbers are frequently in the news, as are the challenges of the race circuits, which are public roads that are closed for the period of the races and used as time trial tracks.
Getting to the Isle of Man for the TT races need not be a problem in spite of the high numbers of visitors however, and the air route to the Isle of Man from Liverpool offers a convenient method of travel for many people in the United Kingdom. The Isle of Man is just a short distance from the British mainland, in the Irish Sea, and the city of Liverpool can be easily reached from many other places in the United Kingdom, making it a great place from which to make the short flight across to Douglas, the Manx capital.
The Isle of Man TT races have a proud motor racing history, having been part of the Motorcycle Grand Prix World Championship for many years, as well as part of the TT Formula 1 Championship.
