Many of Atlanta’s festivals reflect the diversity of its population including the Latino Peachtree Festival in August. The festival was created in 200 with the aim of gathering together all the different races and cultures. Attendances surpassed expectations and since that day the festival has included parades with displays from the different Hispanic groups, floats, clowns, dancers, school bands and Mariachis. The Festival Peachtree Latino is the largest multicultural and family event in the southeast with hundreds of exhibitions, sporting events, parades, arts and crafts, ethnic foods ranging from South American dishes from Argentina, Cuba, Mexico and Puerto Rica to Chinese, family activities and outdoor musical performances which feature world renowned artists. Covering over 200 acres the event is free and each year the number of attractions on offer increases. Two stages feature performances from international artists including performers from Mexico, ‘Colombia, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. The event attracts not only hundreds of Hispanic visitors but also visitors from across the cultural spectrum and is Atlanta’s number one tourist attraction.
