The Austin City Limits Music Festival is a world-class arts fest
Austin, in the south east of Texas, United States, is a city with a rich history and even richer music roots. For years, the Austin City Limits music festival has gathered famous performers from around the world to perform at this destination. The venue became so popular that a television show by that name ran regularly on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). Past performers have included the likes of Stevie Wonder, Coldplay, Alison Krauss, Skrillex, Ray LaMontagne, and more. The three-day festival is so full of music that you’ll need to return to Austin at least one more year to see it all.
Tickets to Austin City Limits typically sell out well in advance of the annual September show, and attendees from afar generally have to buy their ACL tickets well in advance of booking their flights to the destination of Austin. Luckily, Austin is a large city and has a good supply of hotel rooms, but lodging can become scarce and expensive as the date approaches each year. Visitors to the Austin City Limits music festival are advised to secure festival tickets and hotel rooms well in advance.
While in Austin, take in some of the other attractions in town. Austin offers a steam train ride through the Austin hill country almost every weekend of the year. Periodic special events, such as murder mystery train rides, are offered, and these engines may be steam or diesel locomotives. Regardless, all of the engines are authentic antique rail cars that have been restored and well cared for, and will give you a glimpse into the country’s historic past.
