Belgrade: Busy By Day and By Night

BEG, BelgradeVisit Belgrade - You'll Want to Return.

Serbia's capital city, beautiful Belgrade is a popular destination and retains an old world charm all its own and at the same time has some stunning modern buildings. The people of Belgrade enjoy a good time so the nightlife here is the busiest in Eastern Europe with clubs and bars open seven days a week and always lively.

During the day is no different as there is plenty in Belgrade to keep visitors busy. Visit the Belgrade Fortress situated above the town at the juncture of the Rivers Sava and Danube; an excellent place to take photographs.

Kids will enjoy a visit to the Aviation Museum, situated in Nikola Tesla International Airport, Belgrade. Here visitors can inspect a cockpit and operate the controls.

Belgrade, counted as the greenest capital city in Europe, is justifiably proud of its parks and gardens: try a visit to the Botanical Gardens, Kalemegdan Park at the Belgrade Fortress or, the locals favourite, Topcider Park.

Admire the beautiful architecture of the Temple of St Sava. Dedicated to St Sava, Patron Saint of Belgrade and founder of the Orthodox Church, the Temple, it is said, was built upon the Saint's remains, which were burnt by the Ottomans in the 16th century.

Belgrade abounds with arts and crafts, markets and local speciality shops, however if you are looking for High Street chain stores, you need look no further than the ultra-modern Kneza Mihaila. Shops are normally open 12 hours each day, from 8am until 8pm.
