Bucharest East Festival
Music festival held annually each summer in the north side of Bucahrest.
Music lovers looking for a festival with something different to offer can spend a summer in Bucharest. B'estFest, short for Bucharest East Festival, takes place annually in the Tunari-Pipera area in the north side of the city. Each year around July, top international music acts from a range of genres, including dance and indie, flock to this destination to perform for crowds of around 85,000.
Romanian bands support the show and warm up the stages between headline acts, which in the past have included The Killers, Moby, Motorhead, The Ting Tings, Franz Ferdinand and Santana.
In between shows there is plenty of entertainment to keep summer revellers occupied, such as a designated sports area, activities including football and yoga, and a craft section where budding artists can sculpture, paint and practice origami. Find your inner child at the B'estFest playground where you can ride the dodgems, have your face painted, marvel at a magic show, or chill out at the lake lounge where you can unwind in a hammock. Travellers to this destination can also shop for hand-crafted jewellery and vintage vinyl at the bazaar, or fill up on traditional and international delicacies at the food court.
As every music fanatic knows, the best way to enjoy everything a festival has to offer is to set up camp -- B'estFest is no different. Equipped with toilets, showers and even shops, the park's camp site has everything you need to make a tent a home. However, with so much to do at the festival, sleep may be the last thing on your mind.
