Each year, the festival has a theme such as paying homage to a legendary blues musician of the past. The festival lasts three days with performances spread across five stages. In the past, the festival has played host to some of the biggest names in blues music, including BB King, Bonnie Raitt, Ray Charles and the late Bo Diddley as well as international musicians from Latvia, Japan, Switzerland, Australia and the UK attesting to Chicago’s position as the blues capital of the world. Visitors to the festival can enjoy a pleasant day in the park listening to old favourites and also hear some new songs. Food and drink is available throughout the day and evening.
