Find Fun and Sun at Orlando’s Disney World
Walk through history on Belfast’s Titanic tour.
No visit to Orlando (Florida, United States) would be complete without a day spent at Disney World. Whether young or old, visitors can check their worries at the gate and enter a place where the fun never ends. Florida’s sunny weather makes Orlando a perfect getaway from the grey skies farther north, as well. Once your admission is paid, the day is yours as little other than food and souvenirs costs extra. At the height of the tourist season the queues for the favourite rides can get a bit long, but Disney World personnel are experts at keeping the lines moving, so you should not have to wait too long to reach your attraction.
Plan at least one full day, even if you do not plan to see the adjacent Epcot Centre, Animal Kingdom or Disney Hollywood Studios. Disney World is massive, at over 121 km², and at the end of one day, you will be very happy—but very tired.
Disney World is designed like a wheel, with the iconic Cinderella Castle at the centre. Different themed “lands” entertain you as you make your way through the park: Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, and Liberty Square. Characters wander the streets: the human characters will speak to guests; the ones with the large heads (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, etc.) remain silent but can say a lot with waves and body movement. At night, the park lights up with fireworks and the tempo slows as many of the little ones have used up all their energy for that day.
