Jerez de la Frontera in Southern Spain is world famous for being the birthplace of sherry. The name itself is a derivation of its place name Jerez- pronounced “Herr-ETH”. Jerez airport, also known as La Parra, is a simple two-storey terminal that nevertheless receives regular flights to and from the UK. Just eight kilometres from the town of Jerez and only 50 kilometres from Seville, the airport is proving popular with visitors to Andalucía wishing to bypass the holidaymakers at Malaga. A two-hour flight time from London makes this an increasingly attractive business destination.
