Situated in British Columbia, western Canada, Vancouver is a popular destination that effortlessly combines city life with country living and nowhere is this more apparent that in Stanley Park, popular with locals and visitors alike. Slap bang in the middle of the city is not where one would expect to find a 1000-acre park but that is Vancouver for you! Take just a few steps inside and already you can feel the noise and bustle of the city fade away. Stanley Park contains the Lost Lagoon, Beaver Lake, the Vancouver Aquarium, and is home to a stunning array of birds and wildlife. It is possible to walk around the perimeter of the park which will take around two hours if you walk quickly and as long as it takes if you do not!
Make sure you visit Grouse Mountain Wildlife Refuge and Conservation Centre and learn about grey wolves, grizzly bears and other Canadian wildlife. Jump on the Skyride, travel to the top of Grouse Mountain, and look out for some wonderful views of Vancouver. If you visit in May, make sure you see the unique and very wonderful Lumberjack Show and if your visit takes place in the winter months, you can expect some snowshoe hikes, winter sporting activities, and even a sleigh ride.

Vancouver has an amazing range of cafes and restaurants with a truly international flavour. This city is big on live theatre too so try to catch a concert or a play if you can.
