Shopping:
Shopping is free of VAT and the main shopping area is in the high street in St Peter Port where you will find some of the major British and French retail stores. Also visit the smaller shops in the area known as The Old Quarter or visit the Old Guersney market on Thursdays to pick up some local handicrafts.

Excursions:
There is plenty to see and do on the island, but you can also visit the nearby islands of Alderney, Sark, Herm or Lihou.

Family:
Guernsey offers something for all the family; swimming, beach activities, walks through the countryside and visits to historical buildings and monuments.

Getting Around:
Guernsey operates a local bus service to most of the local attractions. Private taxis and a Limousine service are also available. You may prefer to hire a car to give you greater freedom to explore the island at your leisure.
