Grand Canyon takes top spot on Brit 'bucket lists'

The Grand Canyon in the USA is the destination that Brits would most like to visit before they 'kick the bucket', according to a new survey.

Warner Home Video surveyed more than 1,500 people to promote the DVD release of its film The Bucket List, which sees Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson travelling around the world to fulfil their lifelong ambitions.

The Pyramids in Egypt emerged as the second most appealing destination to Brits, followed by Australia's Great Barrier Reef, the Niagara Falls and the Rocky Mountains.

Survey respondents voted the Great Wall of China their sixth 'bucket list' destination, followed by the cities of New York, Sydney, Rome and Venice.

A slight gender separation emerged in the results, with women showing a preference for romantic city breaks and men expressing more interest in exotic, long-haul locations such as the Taj Mahal in India and Machu Picchu in Peru.
