Finnair launches mobile boarding in London, Manchester

Finnair has introduced a mobile boarding option on its flights from Heathrow Airport and Manchester Airport.

The service will be automatically available to members of the Finnair Plus scheme when they add a mobile phone number to their profile.

Prior to the flight, passengers will be sent a message featuring their flight information, which they can check and confirm by sending a reply with the letter A.

The airline will then send a confirmation message in English including a link to a mobile boarding pass, which should be shown to airport personnel on all departures from London, Manchester and Copenhagen.

Until now, Finnair Plus members have only been able to use the text message check-in facility on certain services, including international flights departing from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Copenhagen.

From its base in Helsinki, the airline operates an extensive long-haul network that includes flights to Bangkok, Tokyo, Seoul and New York, as well as services to several cities across Europe.
