British Airways has announced that from 20th March 2007 it will be introducing flights between London Gatwick and Newquay airports.
The service will provide a wide range of domestic and international connections across the British Airways worldwide network for Cornish passengers, whilst at the same time making the increasingly popular South West of England more accessible to both leisure and business travellers.
The new daily flights will leave Gatwick at 1250, arriving in Newquay at 1350. The departure from Newquay will be at 1520, arriving Gatwick at 1620. Flights will be operated by the carrier's Boeing 737 jet aircraft.
Newquay Cornwall Airport has developed fast in recent years, handling 352,000 passengers last year compared with only 70,000 in 2001.
In December, regional airline FlyBe confirmed that it would introduce a weekly service from Newquay to Belfast from 26th May, as well as reintroducing its seasonal service to Edinburgh, which will operate five times per week from 25th May.
