Virgin Atlantic has announced a new code share deal with Air China which will allow passengers to use the services of both carriers.
The first airline to offer direct flights between London and
Shanghai back in 1999, customers of
Virgin Atlantic will now have the chance to purchase flights between London Heathrow and
Beijing, while Air China will code share on flights between
Shanghai and London.
Virgin Atlantic’s Commercial Director, Willy Boulter, said: "We are delighted to announce this new codeshare agreement with Air China. It will offer passengers greater flexibility for their travel to and from China, together with fantastic value and excellent standards of service throughout their journey."
Virgin Atlantic, Britain’s second largest carrier, currently flies daily between London Heathrow and
Shanghai Pudong Airport, and from April 16 Air China’s service between
Beijing and London Heathrow will be increased from five to seven flights each week.
"We are so pleased to cooperate with Virgin Atlantic Airways. I believe that through our joint efforts, we will provide more choices and high quality services to the travelling public," Executive Vice President of Air China, Cai Jianjiang, commented.
