Good American patriots and others wanting to soak in the atmosphere for July 4th could
fly to Boston this summer.
The city's annual Harbourfest returns on June 28th for a seven-day run of celebrations and other events, the largest of their type in the
United States, showcasing the history of the city which kicked off the American Revolution.
The festival attracts over 2.5 million visitors from around the world every year, with many coming to see re-enactments of the Revolutionary war, free concerts, museum exhibits, cruises and even visits from US naval ships.
Festivities kick off on Wednesday June 28th with the opening ceremony, followed by a Children's Day on the Thursday and the Middlesex County Fife and Drum on July 4th.
One of the biggest events is the Chowderfest, when over two thousand gallons of Boston's favourite clam chowder will be tasted by over 12,000 people at the Boston City Hall Plaza. Families who take part in the tasting can keep the kids entertained with entertainers, jugglers and other musical acts.
In addition, over 200 other main events will be scheduled in and around the city.
