One of Europe's more audience-orientated film festivals, the Viennale which takes place over two weeks, from October 13th to 25th, is well worth taking a trip to
Vienna for.
First established in the 1960s by a group of film critics, the Viennale is Austria's biggest annual cinematic event, offering a fortnight of premieres, retrospectives seminars and celluloid-focused discussions.
Showing a carefully gathered selection of films from around the world to be screened alongside a collection of new Austrian offerings, this year's festival includes tributes to various prominent personalities and institutions in international film making.
Screened at various cinematic locations around the city of
Vienna the two-week event will offer visitors the opportunity to experience over 300 films in every genre from feature and documentary to experimental works and cross-over films.

Viennale festival website.
