Sports enthusiasts and those looking to catch a last taste of summer sun should
fly to Turkey in October.
Head to the town of Cesme on
Turkey's western coast before the end of October to try out kite surfing at the Extreme Sports Café Kite School.
Overlooking the Aegean Sea and less than an hour's drive from Izmir,
Turkey's third largest city, the seaside town of Cesme has some of the best conditions for both novice and experienced kit surfers.
With the opportunity to rent and buy equipment, conditions at the resort are expected to remain sunny until the end of the season, with cool breezes and clear waters providing ideal sporting conditions which are reportedly favoured by some of the world's top kite surfers.
There are also a number of historic sites in and around Cesme, a town historically known for healing mineral springs and thermal waters, to entertain those who tire of the sea, including a 14th century Genoese fortress which was restored by the Ottomans in the 16th century.
