Travellers who
fly to Frankfurt this November should take a trip to the nearby town of Hochheim am Main for its annual Market Festival, which this year runs from November 3rd to 7th.
Set in the picturesque surroundings of the old town, the 500-year-old Hochheim Market Festival is a celebration of local produce of all kinds, from livestock to sparkling wines which attracts thousands of visitors every year.
Surrounded by wine-growing country, there are numerous wineries, including vineyards of the Rheingau, in and around Hochheim - many of whom make an appearance at the annual market, offering visitors the chance to sample their produce.
Visitors to
Frankfurt can enjoy samples of mainly white or sparkling wines from over 60 different vintners if they head to the Hoccheim festival, as well as different foods from the market's many stalls, which along with the rides and other entertainments on offer throughout the festival, make for a very enjoyable time.
For more information visit the
Hochheim town website.
