Spanish-speakers and film enthusiasts should take a
flight to Spain in November for the prestigious 32nd annual Festival of Iberian and Latin American Cinema, otherwise known as the Festival de Cine Iberoamericano.
Held in the Andalusian town of Huelva, the festival is a celebration of films and movies from across South American and the Iberian peninsular, featuring works by Latin directors living and working in the United States too.
The event, which this year is being held from November 18th to 25th, features 25 different cinematic competitions for the directors, producers, actors and writers who come from both sides of the Atlantic.
Around 120 feature-length films and some 60 shorts are expected to be entered for the festival, to compete for the top prize, the Colon de Oro del Jurado, which offers the winners not only a cash prize of €60,000 (£41,000) but a prestigious platform from which to promote their work.
