Kenya expand African service

Kenya Airways has announced it is to expand its fleet, enabling the carrier to increase its capacity, in particular on West African trade routes, for both its passenger and cargo flights.

The additional Boeing 767-300 will bring the number of aircraft of that type in the fleet to seven.

Kenya Airways has announced that it is seeking to establish services to all the key cities across Africa and to provide daily flights to most of its African destinations, as well as increasing connections at its Nairobi hub.

Mr Hugh Fraser, commercial director of Kenya Airways, commented: "This Boeing 767-300 has more passenger and cargo space which will enable us service our rapidly growing trade corridor linking West, East and Central Africa to the trading destinations of Dubai, Guangzhou, Thailand and Mumbai.

"This new aircraft will also assist us ease pressure on highly demanding routes at this time when we are moving into peak demand."

Mr Fraser added that the airline expected to add another four new Boeing 737 -800 aircraft to the fleet before the end of the year.
