Qantas is set to introduce a new and improved, increased service on its
Tokyo-
Sydney route from October this year.
The number of flights will be increased from seven to 11 each week, with the introduction of double daily flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Aircraft operating on the route will also be upgraded, from the current B747-300s to A330-300, providing an improved service on the Sydney route.
The new planes will also be introduced on the
Melbourne-
Tokyo route for its four weekly flights.
John Borghetti, Qantas executive general manager, said: "These new A330-300 services offer our award-winning Skybed sleeper seat in business class, which we believe will be a major benefit for Australian and Japanese business travellers.
"Our A330 services also offer on-demand audio and video entertainment in both business and economy, accessed by personal video screens."
Qantas currently flies 45 times per week between Japan and Australia.
