There are visual delights galore for travellers
flying to Cairo this winter for the city's annual International Film Festival.
Founded in 1976, the festival invites filmmakers to submit their work for competition or just to get the word out about their features.
The festival is held between November 28th and December 8th in a number of venues in
Cairo and celebrates the work of both local and international talent.
Categories include country-specific work, retrospectives, tributes and special sections focusing on films from particular times and places.
Past celebrity visitors to the Cairo International Film Festival include Omar Sharif, Sophia Loren, Oliver Stone, Elizabeth Taylor, Peter O' Toole and Catherine Deneuve.
For more information, have a look at the
Cairo International Film Festival website.
