Festive Florida boat parade
Britons looking to celebrate Christmas with style could hop on a flight to Florida for the annual Winterfest boat parade at Fort Lauderdale on December 16th.
The parade features over 100 lighted boats making their way along the Intracoastal Waterway, passing grandstands filled with spectators before finishing up the ten-mile parade at Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano.
This year's theme for the Florida parade is Broadway on the Waterway, with previous themes including Jewel of the Nile and Once upon a Time.
Celebrities from the worlds of film, music and television often find themselves on one of the boats, ensuring that the parade is truly spectacular.
In addition to the parade, the event also features a black-tie ball, golf and tennis tournaments and a VIP and celebrity reception.
