Korean Air has announced that it is to launch a new passenger service between Incheon (
Seoul) and Guangzhou in southern China.
A Boeing 737-800 will depart from
Incheon four times a week, with return flights taking place on the same days.
Guangzhou represents Korean Air's first foray into flights to southern China after the governments of
South Korea and China made an agreement to increase flights between the two countries.
"We will continue to increase our routes to
China, in order to offer our customers more travel options between China and Korea and to provide faster and more efficient access to
North America,
Europe, Oceania and
Japan via our Incheon hub," said J H Lee, president and chief operating officer of
Korean Air.
"We are consistently looking for new destinations to expand our network. During the past two months alone, we have launched new flights to
Yantai,
Dalian,
Vienna,
Las Vegas and now Guangzhou."
Last week, the airline was awarded the title of Asia Pacific Airline of the Year at the annual MRO Asia Awards Dinner.
