American Airlines has announced a deal with
Gulf Air to provide passengers with more ways of collecting frequent flyer miles.
Members of American Airlines' AAdvantage scheme will be able to earn and use air miles on flights provided by Gulf Air by changing at London Heathrow,
Paris,
Frankfurt or
Dublin for connecting Gulf Air services to the
Middle East, Asia and
Africa.
Frequent fliers with Gulf Air can also take advantage of the deal when changing at the same locations for flights to
the US and elsewhere.
"American and Gulf Air have had a long- standing codeshare agreement which has allowed our customers to experience travel on Gulf Air flights for many years," commented Kurt Stache, president of AAdvantage Marketing Programs for
American Airlines.
"Our frequent flyer agreement now allows our customers the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of our expanded relationship with Gulf Air through their participation in the AAdvantage Travel Rewards programme."
Last month,
American Airlines announced a seasonal promotion allowing AAdvantage members to collect bonus miles on their Christmas shopping at the AAdvantage online shopping website.
