Holidaymakers planning to
fly to Australia this spring might want to check out one of the biggest comedy festivals in the world while they're there.
The Melbourne International Comedy Festival takes place between April 4th and 29th at more than 100 venues across
Melbourne, hosting performances by over 1,000 comedians.
A broad spectrum of comedy is covered by performers at this event, including stand-up, cabaret, film, television, street performances, theatre and much more.
As well as bringing some of the best-known comedians in the world to
Australia, the festival also aims to give a voice to emerging talent from across the globe.
This year, attendees can expect to have their ribs tickled by the likes of Ardal O'Hanlon, Ross Noble, Sean Hughes, Tom Gleeson and many more.
Children can also be entertained by the special Comedy Club for Kids, which sees big names adapt their jokes and stories for a young audience - providing a welcome alternative to balloon animals and the antics of clowns.
More than 400,000 visitors flock to
Australia for this festival every year - and find it difficult to leave without aching sides.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival website.
