Held between July 7th and 29th 2007, the world's premier cycling event – the Tour de France - is sure to pull in the crowds.
Featuring 20 stages and covering 3,500 km of the some of the most beautiful countryside and mountain regions in Europe, the tour may also give visitors the chance to explore many different locations.
Starting in London, the race soon winds its way through the Alps and the Pyrenees mountains, before riders sprint for the line in
Paris.
More than 200 riders will compete fiercely for the coveted winner's yellow jersey, spectators following the event can enjoy street entertainment and sample local cuisine along the way, according to ESPN.com.
While in
France, visitors should take the opportunity to enjoy the Bastille Day celebrations held in Paris on July 14th.
The explosive festivities see thousands of people descend on the Champs-Elysees to watch a military parade, before congregating at the Chap-de-Mars to watch the firework display.
