Top gap year locations for 2007 revealed

A new study has revealed that India, Peru and Tanzania are the three top destinations for structured gap year placements in 2007.

The research from the Year Out Group also saw Kenya and Thailand enter the top ten for the first time.

Other countries in the list included South Africa and China in joint fourth place and Australia in tenth place, with Costa Rica and the UK also featuring.

"This year the fascinating and varied destinations of India, Peru and Tanzania have topped our members' poll," commented Richard Oliver, chief executive of the Year Out Group.

He added that the number of people going on gap year placements and expeditions was also on the rise.

The Year Out Group is a non-profit organisation that was formed in 1998 to help people looking for a placement at home and abroad find their perfect match.
