The tourism board in
New York has announced some of the events visitors to the city can enjoy if they choose to spend Halloween there.
Celebrations in the Big Apple begin as early as October 20th, offering plenty of time for travellers to both take in the city's main attractions and enjoy its scary seasonal events.
The main highlights include the New York City Horror Film Festival, which will run between October 24th and 28th, and the Village Halloween Parade, which is held in Greenwich Village on October 31st and sees thousands of participants dress up in their frightening best.
"One of the best things about the Village Halloween Parade is that everyone can enjoy it," comments George Fertitta, chief executive of
New York tourism board NYC & Company.
"Whether you're watching or marching, the energy and excitement of it really comes through."
There will also be a number of child-friendly events at zoos, aquariums and museums across the city, according to the board.
Holidaymakers thinking of treating themselves to a
business class flight to New York can do so with carriers such as
American Airlines,
Delta,
Eos Airlines and
Lufthansa, among others.
