Japan Airlines has announced plans to roll out its new premium economy cabin on flights between
London and
Tokyo.
The carrier said that the new seats will be available on the route from December 1st this year, with the cabin to be launched on its services from
Frankfurt and
Paris to
Tokyo next year.
Passengers flying
premium economy with the airline will be able to benefit from a unique shell-shaped seat boasting a width of 18.9 inches and a pitch of 38 inches, as well as a laptop power outlet, various toiletries and amenities, and inflight entertainment via a personal nine-inch screen.
A number of extra
refreshments, such as champagne and ice cream, will also be available in addition to the standard economy menu. Dedicated check-in and priority baggage handling services will be offered at the airport.
For those who prefer to fly first or
business class, Japan Airlines also announced that it is to launch new seats in these cabins on its international routes from 2008.
Earlier this year, the carrier reopened its
lounges at Narita International Airport's Terminal 2 after giving them a makeover to boost capacity.
