Passengers flying with
British Airways,
Cathay Pacific and
Qantas to and from
Los Angeles can now benefit from brand new lounge facilities at the city's international airport.
Customers holding first or
business class tickets with these carriers, as well as certain frequent fliers with other oneworld airlines, can now relax in the lounges, which span an area measuring 1,360 sq m, at the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
The
lounges have been designed to reflect California's culture of sea and sand and offer a reception area complete with plasma screens, a bar, showers, PC workstations, Wi-Fi access and complimentary food and drink.
Ken Gilbert, oneworld vice president of customer experience and airports, said that the joint initiative enabled the three airlines involved to create a significantly better lounge experience than if they had worked individually.
"With the space available at Los Angeles, combined with the redevelopment of Tom Bradley International Terminal, the best option all round was for our member airlines to develop a joint lounge," he commented.
Holidaymakers taking economy or
business class flights to Los Angeles might be able to take advantage of the current strong position of the pound against the dollar.
The pound hit a 26-year high of $2.08 yesterday, meaning that travellers
shopping in the
USA would have been able to get more for their money.
