The new Onward Travel Centre recently opened at
Gatwick Airport represents good news for travellers, an expert has said.
According to Caroline Alderson of Gatwick Airport, the facility - which brings together a range of coach, rail and taxi travel options for those flying to the hub - prioritises the needs of passengers.
The centre is located in the arrivals hall and is a step towards the airport's commitment of encouraging 40 per cent of its non-transfer customers to use public transport when heading to their next destination.
Ms Alderson commented: "The Onward Travel Centre is located right by the arrivals area so literally as soon as people step out into Gatwick it's the first thing they see and they have all of their onward travel services all in one place. It makes things easier and quicker."
The new
facility is part of Gatwick's £850 million ten-year investment plan and has resulted in the closure of the existing Hotelink, Southern Trains and National Express desks in the South Terminal.
