Lufthansa has announced that it is to launch a new route between
Bristol and
Frankfurt next year.
The service will run three times a day and will begin on March 30th 2008 in time for the launch of the airline's summer timetable.
This means that
Lufthansa will operate flights from a total of seven UK locations once the new route is launched next year, bringing its weekly service total to 476.
"Bristol and its environs are one of the most important economic regions in the UK. The new route will bring considerable time savings for the travel plans of many business travellers," commented Dr Karl-Rudolf Rupprecht, Lufthansa's head of hub management in
Frankfurt.
The announcement comes days after Scandinavian carrier
SAS revealed that it is to launch a thrice-weekly service from Bristol to
Oslo in
Norway in March 2008, complementing its current route between Bristol and
Stockholm.
