Celebrate New Year's Eve in Munich

Celebrate New Year's Eve in Munich
Anyone wishing to see in the new year in another country may wish to take a trip to Munich in Germany this December where the Tollwood performing arts festival hosts a big celebration.

The end-of-year party takes place in the Alpen tent on the Theresienwiese and anyone lucky enough to get their hands on a ticket will be able to enjoy an aperitif on entrance, a five-course meal and another snack on the stroke of midnight.

Germany is famed for its Christmas markets, but this New Year's Eve party is sure to offer plenty of festive entertainment.

This year, a Bavarian comical play and a live swing band are scheduled for the evening, while the German tradition of waltzing at midnight will be going ahead as ever.

And of course, with Germany being an hour ahead of GMT, any Britons in Munich may also wish to toast the turn of the British new year an hour after their German friends have opened the champagne.
