A number of new flights from
airports in
London to destinations in
Europe have been announced by
British Airways.
The carrier said it is beginning a range of new short-haul services from Heathrow, Gatwick and London City airports next year, taking in destinations across
Spain and beyond.
Travellers will be able to fly from
Heathrow Airport to
Malaga and from
Gatwick Airport to
Alicante,
Faro,
Gibraltar,
Ibiza,
Malaga,
Palma and
Tunis from March 30th 2008.
In addition,
flights to Amsterdam,
Barcelona,
Nice and
Warsaw from
London City Airport - operated by BA CityFlyer - will begin on the same date.
However, the airline also said that it will suspend services from Gatwick to
Aberdeen,
Nice,
Prague,
Reykjavik and
Split, as well as those from London City to
Milan.
"We are opening up these Mediterranean hotspots with our new flights and are confident that, with our full onboard service and low prices, they will be very popular with customers," commented Robert Boyle, commercial director at British Airways.
Last month, the airline announced plans to launch new flights from Gatwick to
Poznan and
Antalya in 2008.
