UK carrier
bmi has announced that it is set to double its flights between
Heathrow Airport and
Moscow in time for the summer.
From March 30th an extra daily service will be added to the route, with other additions to the airline's schedule including more
flights to Manchester and
Durham Tees Valley from Heathrow.
There will also be service reductions between Heathrow and
Leeds-Bradford, while bmi's route between
London and
Inverness will be suspended and summer
flights to Alicante and
Nice will not run this year.
"In launching the summer 2008 timetable we are pleased to be adding an extra flight to Moscow from Heathrow," commented Peter Spencer,
bmi managing director.
"Since launching the route less than 18 months ago we have experienced encouraging growth."
Yesterday the airline announced that it is to introduce new rules for cabin luggage from January 7th to comply with changes to Department for Transport guidelines.
Passengers in bmi's business class and
premium economy cabins will be able to carry two pieces of hand baggage, while economy class flyers will be able to take one piece from next week.
