Best global carrier award for American Airlines
American Airlines has won the title of Best International Airline after readers of Travel Weekly voted for the company.
The carrier beat the likes of British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa to the accolade in the awards run by the US travel magazine, which saw some 5,000 readers take part in the voting process.
American Airlines offers a range of flights from the UK to destinations in the USA such as New York, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Denver, among others.
"We appreciate the travel agency community and all the other Travel Weekly readers who recognised American's achievements in international flying," commented Kurt Stache, vice president and general sales manager at American Airlines.
The airline will launch a new non-stop route between Heathrow Airport and Dallas on March 30th as part of plans to take advantage of the enforcement of the EU-US open skies agreement.
