Travellers looking to fly from
Ireland to destinations in continental
Europe will soon be able to take advantage of new routes from
Aer Arann.
The airline said it is to begin operating flights from
Galway and
Waterford airports to
Amsterdam,
Bordeaux,
Malaga and
Faro on May 1st.
These new routes may be of particular interest to those intending to travel from the UK to see Ireland and go on to explore other European hotspots.
Garry Cullen, managing director of Aer Arann, said the new flights will provide its customers with "greater choice and easier access" to destinations in Europe.
"In addition to the sun destinations, this route expansion offers services to Amsterdam Schiphol," he added.
"Schiphol offers the best connections of any airport in the world, with more than 260 destinations in 91 countries."
Last October, the airline upped its flight frequency on a route between
Luton Airport and
Galway to three flights a day, enabling
Aer Arann to carry up to 5,000 extra travellers every month.
