The ongoing weakness of the dollar is set to attract more travellers looking for a bargain to the
USA this year, according to one expert.
Holidaymakers looking to get the most out of their sterling are likely to look west to the USA, where the pound is currently equivalent to about $2, Adrian Jacob of exchange service Currency UK said.
He added that even without the recent plunges in the value of the dollar, the USA is still a significantly cheap place in which to take a
holiday.
"When the currency hits the news and people know that the dollar is going to go to two dollars to the pound, then people think it's a great trip," Mr Jacob commented.
Some of the most popular American cities for travellers include the likes of
New York,
Boston,
Los Angeles,
Miami and
San Francisco.
The forthcoming enforcement of the open skies pact could see holidaymakers able to take advantage of extra
flights to the USA from the UK.
