Ten of the best seats in
business class cabins around the world have been rated by the Times.
According to the newspaper, some of the most comfortable and innovative business class seats are those on flights operated by airlines such as
Air Canada,
British Airways,
Virgin Atlantic and
Singapore Airlines.
It commends Air Canada's ExecutiveFirst cabin for its fully flat bed, which measures six feet and three inches long and 31 inches wide, with British Airways' Club World offering also being "impressive".
Meanwhile,
business class carriers including
Eos Airlines and
Silverjet were praised for the value offered by their seats, while
Etihad was recommended for arranging its cabin so that all seats have direct aisle access.
Singapore Airlines' new business class cabin was described as a "departure from the norm" for requiring passengers to lie on seats diagonally, offering a seat width of 30 inches as a result.
British Airways launched the first inflight lie-flat bed in 2000. The seat is now available in all of its Club World cabins onboard its Boeing 747 aircraft for
long-haul flights to and from
London.
