British Airways has confirmed that it is to stop flights on its route between
London City Airport and
Milan later this month.
The carrier said that "operational reasons" are to blame for the suspension of the flights from February 25th, Business Travel World reports.
However, the airline urged passengers to check flight schedules after this date as some services between the two points may still operate on certain "key" days.
British Airways also operates a route between
Heathrow Airport and Milan Malpensa, as does
Alitalia.
The carrier first announced plans to suspend the route between London City and Milan last year, when it revealed that it would be adding further short-haul destinations to its schedule of flights from Heathrow,
Gatwick and London City airports.
British Airways services to
Amsterdam,
Barcelona,
Nice and
Warsaw will begin at London City on March 30th.
