London City Airport has become the only airport to be designated Business Superbrand status.
The ranking means the airport is classed alongside other aviation brands such as
Air France and
British Airways.
Released last week, the list saw Google take the top spot, followed by Microsoft, BP and the BBC. London City Airport appears in 415th place out of a total of 500 companies.
Richard Gooding, chief executive of London City Airport, said the accolade highlighted the airports "exciting" growth over the last two decades.
"London City Airport has grown from a small regional airport serving almost 133,000 passengers in its first full year of trading, to a staggering 2.9 million passengers in 2007," he commented.
"More and more business travellers are recognising the benefits of London City Airport as it is located on the doorstep of the City and Canary Wharf."
Last month, the
airport was voted the best in the UK by readers of Wanderlust magazine.
