Singapore Airlines has announced it has taken delivery of the
Airbus A380 aircraft that will fly on its route between
London and
Singapore.
The flights using the spectacular plane will begin on March 18th, with the first journey from
Heathrow Airport being made the following day, and will represent the first commercial air service to
Europe with the A380.
Passengers on these flights will be able to take advantage of the first class Singapore Airlines Suites, as well as the spacious
business class cabin and a more comfortable economy class section. A total of 471 seats are available across the three classes.
"The A380 allows Singapore Airlines customers to travel to London in unprecedented comfort, space and luxury," the carrier said in a statement.
Flyers may also be interested to note that the aircraft has a number of
eco-friendly features, including less fuel burn than other large aeroplanes. It also lays claim to having "the quietest cabin in the sky".
