Flights to Tel Aviv from
Heathrow Airport have been launched by
bmi.
The route began operations last week and sees passengers able to take advantage of daily non-stop flights to the Israeli city.
According to the airline, the flights have been timed to coincide with certain connections from
regional airports such as
Manchester and
Leeds-Bradford.
Nigel Turner, chief executive of
bmi, said that
Tel Aviv was a "key" flight destination for the carrier and remarked that booking levels had risen above expectations.
"Its addition further enhances our ever-growing network of destinations in an area of economic growth and development," he commented.
Meanwhile, the carrier is already looking to add further flights to the route between Heathrow and Tel Aviv, thisismoney.co.uk reports.
According to the website, Mr Turner said that demand for the services could see a particular boost from non-Jewish tourists in the future.
