One of the world's biggest gay pride celebrations is set to hit the streets of
New York this summer.
Taking place between June 22nd and 29th, NYC Pride is expected to bring hundreds of thousands of parade marchers and spectators to the Big Apple.
The event celebrates the historic Stonewall Riots of 1969, which saw a group of New Yorkers engage in the first public display of what is now known as gay pride in a clash with local police.
Visitors heading to
New York for the festival can expect to see performances and hear speakers at the NYC Pride Rally at Bryant Park on June 22nd, with the famous march taking place on June 29th, beginning at 5th Avenue.
The 29th will also see the Pridefest street fair take place on Hudson Street, while those looking for the ultimate party will be able to visit Hudson River Park for the Dance on the Pier event.

NYC Pride website.
